To Start:
  • Create a new Google Document, title it “Your Name – Starters” and share it with me.
  • Type “The Week of September 7th”, highlight it and use the drop-down text menu to make it a heading.
  • Check out either this cartoon OR this article, explaining some of the ideas we discussed in the morning class last week.
  • Answer the following questions in the document:
o   What is your reaction to the authors' arguments that “chivalry is not kindness” and                “chivalry must die?”
o   How could this relate to our reading of Things Fall Apart?

In Class:
  • Read “The Body Rituals of Nacirema” with a partner. (Available in Mild, Spicy and Spanish.)
  • Highlight or underline anything you find confusing, funny or agree or disagree with.
  • THEN use the assignment in Google Classroom to answer the questions together.

For Reading:
  • I have posted the audiobook on our Google Classroom page.
  • Continue using the Google Document titled “Your Name - TFA Reading Log” that you shared with me last week to answer questions.

For each question, be sure to cite evidence from the text to support your answer.

  2. What role does Ikemefuna play in the family?  With Nwoye? With Okonkwo?

For each question, be sure to cite evidence from the text to support your answer.
