To Start
Examine this Pulitzer Prize-winning political cartoon, published in November 1945 and entitled "Bridge the Gulch." On a piece of paper in the starters section of your binder jot down:
  • What do you see here?
  • What you think this cartoon is trying to convey about the Cold War?

In Class:
  • We're discussing why it's called the "Cold War." We're also discussing which countries got involved in the Cold War and how, using this map. Make sure you can explain:
    • Hot and Cold Wars
    • The First, Second and Third World
    • Proxy Wars
    • Non-Alignment​

  • Then, we're getting into our interview groups. Before the end of class:
    • Decide who will take on each role (communicator, logistics, technology, documentation).
    • Think of any local veterans you know who might be willing to help, and email Ally about it.
    • Develop a conversation script for your first contact with the veteran, including:
      • Who you are and where you are from.
      • What we are doing.
      • What you would like from them.
      • When you would be available.
      • Where the interview could be conducted.
We'll use any remaining time today and tomorrow to work on our timelines.

For Homework:
Finish up your timeline, so that you'll have it available to study for our end-of-project exam.
